"Eros" is the unreleased seventh studio album by American alternative metal band Deftones. The album was originally intended to be released in 2008 as the follow-up to the band's previous album "Saturday Night Wrist" (2006). However, the recording process was delayed due to personal issues and the tragic car accident involving Deftones' bassist Chi Cheng in November 2008. Cheng sustained serious injuries in the accident, which left him in a coma until his death in 2013.
Due to the difficult circumstances surrounding the recording of "Eros", the band decided to shelve the album indefinitely and instead released the album "Diamond Eyes" in 2010. "Eros" features some of Deftones' most experimental and intense work, with the band exploring more atmospheric and experimental sounds while maintaining their signature heavy sound. The album remains unreleased to this day, but some of the songs from the sessions have been leaked online over the years.
